1000 and counting...

by Art Shapiro
(Portland, Oregon)

Visiting and collecting (bagging) waterfalls has been my hobby over the past 16 years... over 1000 and counting.

I enjoy the research (how to get there), the execution (getting there by car and foot), the few momments taking in the beautiful waterfalls and their surroundings and the photo work, recording and scrapbooking involved.

Most of my vacations, one to two weeks in length, have waterfall visiting days built in. I get to visit forests, mountains, lakes, ... the natural beauty of the planet while doing my hobby. And I get the physical fitness of the hikes, the miles of walking to see the beauties.

A few of my most hated words ... "Private Property" and "No Tresspassing" ... why should access to a waterfall or its viewpoint be privately owned?

Nothing better than seeing a waterfall in snow or iced up; or a flowing falls in the desert; or seeing the same waterfall in different seasons of the year.

Many more waterfalls to visit in 2009.

I am also equally interested to visit many waterfall NEW
by: V.K.Kanniappan

Hi Art Shapiro,

I am also equally interested to visit many waterfall, but i am already engaged in teaching in a private medical college, Puduchery state. I visited a few waterfalls in Tamil Nadu and Snowquelmi waterfalls (Of course from distance) in Seattle in US during 2002.

I am interested in web search for waterfalls after reading a story of happenings in and around Paanatheertham waterfalls in Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu.

It is very interesting to know of different types of waterfalls in different countries.
