2007-03-03 14:30 - Hawaii Travel Blogs Updated

I've updated the Travel Blog pages for Hawai'i with stories from our recent Maui excursion. There were lots of drama on this trip as we had things break on us, a near fatal flash flood incident, lots of private property issues, etc.

Even with that said, we still had a good time and it certainly beats getting stuck at work and having a bad few days. Check it out! [read more]

2007-03-07 14:32 - Finally - the Big Island!

Tomorrow, we leave for Hilo on the Big Island of Hawai'i via O'ahu. We have never been to the Big Island before so we really look forward to seeing this dynamic place.

Given the limited time and the October earthquake, we realize we won't be visiting all the waterfalls we had hoped for on this trip (Kapoloa Falls was a big casualty). Still, we'll do what we can do this weekend and update this site to round out our collection of Hawai'i's waterfalls.

Stay tuned...

2007-03-16 14:34 - Helicopter Safety

The pair of helicopter tour crashes last weekend on Kaua'i in a span of three days really brought to our attention the issue of helicopter safety. So Julie did some additional research on the matter further, and we were shocked at what we found... [read article]

2007-03-21 14:34 - International Earth Day Musings

It's March 21 Pacific Daylight Time (we did start Daylight Savings three weeks early this year) so International Earth Day has finally arrived to the West Coast of the US.

This also means that it's the Vernal Equinox and the first day of Spring.

So while the days are rapidly getting longer (if you're in the Northern Hemisphere), here's a chance to reflect on nature's beauty and to continue looking for ways to combat climate change in our day-to-day lives.

And as always, visiting waterfalls is one of the best ways to appreciate nature's beauty and to get into the spirit of being eco-friendly. In fact, Spring is an excellent season for waterfalls.

So perhaps this weekend (if you don't have the time today), take the time to do a local hike to a waterfall. Or, if you don't live near a waterfall, it might be a good time to satisfy that wanderlust and plan for a waterfalling excursion.

Indeed, waterfalls are pure, natural, and beautiful... just what Mother Nature intended!
