2008-01-01 10:05 - Looking Back on a Busy Year of Waterfalling in 2007

The year 2007 was full of waterfalling adventures and new learning experiences. In fact, it was probably our busiest in terms of the amount of waterfalling abroad. We began the year with a handful of waterfall trips to Hawaii. In mid January, we traveled to... [read article]

2008-01-05 09:47 - Waterfall Books Marketplace

I've just added a page in the "Books and Maps" section designed to be a comprehensive resource of waterfall products on the market for waterfall-lovers. This includes both products we've owned and reviewed as well as those about places we aspire to visit. Have a look and see what you think.

Of course, if you feel there should be a title on this page that isn't on there already, let us know! [read more]

2008-01-06 15:37 - Updates to the Website

After repeated trips to South America, I finally have enough material to warrant a major tier 2 page for all of Latin America. Included are the latest updates regarding Patagonia, basic travel info, books and maps, and more!

I have yet to put in the Patagonian travel blogs, but they will trickle in during the next week or two. Stay tuned!

In the mean time, enjoy the latest Latin American additions to the World of Waterfalls... [read more]

2008-01-11 18:12 - Patagonia Blogs added to the Website

After several days of composing these, I've finally posted up the Patagonia Blogs to the World of Waterfalls. Although the adventures in this region weren't as motivated by waterfalls as most of our other trips, they were still memorable and full of interesting happenings under the backdrop of some world class scenery. And like always, such adventures allow us to find out who we are, where we stand with the rest of the world, and what's important in life. Indeed, it's why I think of all the things we occupy ourselves with, traveling to expand our horizons is the way to go! [read more]

2008-01-13 02:55 - Adjustment Made to All Travel Stories/Blogs

Many of the travel stories or travel blogs span multiple days or had lots of activity in a single day. These resulted in rather fairly lengthy stories that may be difficult to digest in one sitting. So to make things easier on the reader, I've adjusted all travel blogs to have anchor links arranged almost like a table of contents at the beginning of the story or blog. That way, you can "jump" to a particular day or part of a particular story. You can even use the headings in the anchor links to browse the story to see if something catches or eye. Either way, the intention is to make the travel blogs more user friendly. I hope this adjustment does that.

And if not (or if you have other suggestions), please let us know! [read more]

2008-01-27 13:47 - Return of the Rain in Southern California

In the past week, heavy rains have fallen throughout Southern California adding to another rain storm that occurred a little over three weeks ago. While I recalled hearing in the media that this year was supposed to be a La Nina year (meaning drier than normal conditions) and that our drought situation looks to be worsening, I'm personally rejoicing at the thought that we're getting much needed rain and we might actually check out some local waterfalls we've been meaning to check out in Santa Barbara and in San Diego.

As a matter of fact, I don't think we've done any local waterfalling since 2005 - the last time California got significant winter rains.

Now I do know these rains barely helped in our worsening drought situation and water-management crises, but I at least look forward to seeing snow-blanketed mountains and relatively little smog when the rains clear. I know some long awaited local waterfalling has been long overdue... [read more]

2008-01-27 13:56 - More website updates

I've added a page on the website providing information on how we managed to build this website and why. I think this might inspire some people wanting to show off their own waterfalls collection or motivate others to turn whatever their passions or interests are into something that can meaningfully change their lives.

The About Us page has also been updated.

Have a look at our heartfelt story of how we ended up building the World of Waterfalls, and see if it might get you to do what you love and love what you do - for life! [read more]
