2008-07-04 00:32 - Finally back from the Oz-Africa Trip

It has been a rather dramatic two months of traveling the east coast of Australia and several countries in Africa. We've managed to survive this trip but not before I suffered from food poisoning (I don't think I'm fully recovered yet), some broken equipment, lost items. and a nasty cold.

In any case, now that I'm back home, I'll try to get the website updated with new blogs, new waterfalls, updated top 10 lists, new photos, and even new sections. But that's after I settle all my bills and try to get back to reality. Hey, at least I don't have to brush my teeth with bottled water anymore nor do I have to worry about uncooked salads and fruits with skin on them.

So many thoughts and so many memories. I hope I can get them sorted out in a timely manner for your enjoyment and information in the coming months. Stay tuned...

2008-07-12 23:42 - Africa Travel Blogs Added

This is the first of several updates to the website relating to our "Trip of a Lifetime." I'm releasing more updates in the weeks to come, but they will be released piecewise so stay tuned to see what else has changed. There's a lot of work involved in these updates so please bear with me as I try to get the website into a more current state given the current time and energy constraints.

There are a couple of things I've done with the Africa blogs that I haven't done with previous blogs. One is incorporate full stories about non-waterfall-related themes. That way you get a more complete story about what we went through and a better feel for the places we've been to. Another thing is the blogs encompass several days at a time (like at least 5 or more days). This ensures continuity to some of these stories. Of course, I'll still release shorter stories of less than 5 days. But which method I employ will depend on how I think the story can best be told.

Hope you enjoy this latest round of travel stories, and remember to check back (or RSS this page) for more good stuff! [read more]

2008-07-13 19:20 - Added Victoria Falls to Website

At long last, we've incorporated the last of the Big Three Waterfalls to the website - Victoria Falls!

Indeed, the inclusion of this waterfall has also caused changes to the Top 10 List as well.

And even with these changes, there are still more updates to come! Look for the Africa region as well as new waterfalls in Australia and more Australian Travel Blogs. Of course, I'll let you know when they're incorporated through this newsfeeder (did you RSS this page, yet?). [read more]

2008-07-16 20:59 - Africa Section Ready For Prime Time

I've managed to compose the majority of the pages for the Africa region (there are only a few info pages regarding logistics of travel to Africa I have yet to compose, but that will follow shortly and they're low on my priority list).

Among the pages introduced are Zambian Waterfalls, Ugandan Waterfalls, Kenyan Waterfalls, Other African Attractions, and even an Africa Tier 2 Page.

More updates to come as I'll shift my focus towards updating the Australia pages to include Queensland (the only state not on this website yet) and new waterfalls in New South Wales. Following these updates will be travel blogs pertaining to the Australia region from our recent trip.

I hope you find the latest additions to the website useful and entertaining.

Check back often for these updates. And don't forget to sign up for our newsletter for more news and stories! [read more]

2008-07-20 13:02 - Australia Pages Updated

Major changes have been made to the Australia section of the website. Included in these updates are additions to New South Wales and the introduction of the Queensland section. Given the plethora of waterfalls introduced from these updates, the Australia Top 10 List was also radically changed.

There are still a few more updates left to do regarding Australian Travel Blogs and African Travel Logistics, but these will come within the next week I hope. [read more]

2008-07-22 18:35 - Regional Top 10 Pages Updated

I've retooled the Regional Top 10 Lists (namely regions that also have waterfalls that made the World's Top 10) to include waterfalls that have made the World's Top 10. After thinking about it and discussing this topic with Julie, no one really cares if we repeat ourselves in the regional lists. I guess in psychoanalyzing myself, perhaps this was my way of sneaking in more waterfalls. It just goes to show you how difficult it is to come up with a Top 10 List of Waterfalls! [read more]

2008-07-25 21:58 - Australi Travel Blogs Updated

This is the last of the major updates I'm making to the website that directly relates to our two-month trip to Australia and Africa. There are 6 travel stories added to the Australia Travel Blogs section which encompass topics ranging from the Great Barrier Reef to Wallaman Falls to even Ellenborough Falls... [read more]

2008-07-26 20:11 - Added America's Top 10 Waterfalls List

Even though we've only been to a handful of states in the country, we've seen hundreds of waterfalls. We figured we mind as well take a shot at putting a list of what we think are America's Top 10, but I'm sure this list will be in flux as we plan to see many more... [read more]

2008-07-28 22:40 - Comment on YOUR favorite waterfalls

I've updated the Top 10 Best Waterfalls of the World page with a form that allows you to make comments that actually becomes part of the website. In other words, it's now easier than ever to be seen, be heard, and add your own photos!

Our Top 10 page is the first page where I've implemented this. I expect to replace the current commenting feature on all other pages with this new, more integrated feature.

So what are you waiting for? Check it out and share your favorite waterfall(s) with the rest of the world! [read more]
