Attie Creek Falls was mentioned to us by the friendly hosts at the Mudbrick Manor.
Prior to their recommendation, I don't think we would've even considered doing this falls. So we went out to see it towards the end of the day where after a little more exercise than we anticipated, we finally managed to see this light-flowing 25m waterfall.
Indeed, in our rush to see the falls before it got too dark, we had to walk 500m uphill to the base of the falls and its rather deep pool that looked suitable for swimming. When it's hot and humid, I'm sure this would be an inviting place to cool off. And in addition to the main falls, we noticed there were more tiers further downstream. One of those tiers was actually just on the other side of the plunge pool right behind us!
Directions: From the small Hinchinbrook Island neighboring town of Cardwell, we took about a 15-minute drive to get to the picnic area and car park for the falls. More specifically, from the Cardwell Visitor Centre, we went south a couple of blocks to Brasenose St. Eventually, this street leaves town and into the hills where it seemed like there were no more street signs. We basically just persisted until we either saw a sign indicating when we should turn or stop, or we consulted our GPS/map combo (sorry, I don't recall exactly how we did it).
