Browns Falls is a short 10-15m waterfall that also plunges over a basalt wall (lined with hints of its signature basalt columns). A picnic area and car park is right across the road next to a bridge from the trailhead and sign. Although the signage suggests it's a 20-minute walk, I think the hike to the falls is much longer than that as the trail degenerates into a scramble along the stream banks going past a small cascade while crossing a handful of streams and rock hopping towards the end. It did appear to be possible to walk behind the short falls though I didn't do it. Some other visitors I met in the car park asked if I saw any platypus (which I didn't), but apparently this is one such place you might be lucky enough to see the shy, endangered species.
