Cora Lynn Falls is a small cascading waterfall on the Cumberland Walk in the Yarra Ranges National Park near Marysville. Given its proximity to Steavenson Falls, I used this excursion as a little detour to check out and see if this little attraction had some incidental surprises.Well, the falls wasn't particularly impressive, but it was a nice and quiet bush walk that also included a big tree nearby. On the sunny day we were there in November 2006, the shaded bush walk provided welcome relief from the sun, and the interpretive signs explaining the ecosystem and various properties of the forest taught us a few things or two about the area. The only thing breaking the serenity were the obnoxious sounds of the loud motorbikes whizzing along the carvaceous Woods Point Rd. There are numerous other waterfalls nearby here such as Cumberland Falls, Keppel Falls, and Phantom Falls, but we didn't have the time (nor the faith they would flow well given the drought) to see them so we didn't bother.
Directions: As alluded to earlier, Cora Lynn Falls is close to Marysville. From Marysville, take Woods Point Rd (on the north side of Steavenson River) for about 15km. We definitely had to watch out for the bikers as there were lots of blind turns and their rate of speed made it easy to hit them if not careful.
