Hovea Falls

Hovea Falls

Hovea Falls is one of two waterfalls nestled in the John Forrest National Park in the eastern suburbs of Perth. It slides along a rocky bed on the Jane Brook.

To access the falls, you'll need to look for a Park Rd entrance into John Forrest National Park leaving the Great Eastern Highway (Hwy 94). The most straight-forward route is if you take the second Park Rd Entrance and then proceed to take the second left towards the car park by the Glen Brook Dam.

The well-signed walk heads east and eventually passes an arched tressel bridge towards the top of the falls. It's possible to scramble towards the base of the falls after crossing the bridge at its top.

The falls was hardly flowing when we were there in June 2006. I think it's a rain-fed waterfall meaning it's more likely to have better flow much later in the winter or spring when Jane Brook has had a chance to accumulate more rainwater through the winter and spring rains.

Tell us about your experience with this waterfall.
