"Castro Canyon Waterfall" is a name I'm making up for this surprise waterfall.
It's actually on the Deetjen's Big Sur Inn property, but you can see the lower part of the falls from the Castro Canyon Bridge on Highway 1 right next to the property. There's also a tiny upper waterfall, which you can see from the small bridge next to the Castro Canyon Room within the property.
We don't know how long the creek in Castro Canyon lasts for considering we saw this falls during Spring in a year when the area had been battered by heavy rains all Winter long. But we figured we mind as well include it on the website since it certainly did look like a legitimate waterfall as far as we were concerned.
Directions: Deetjen's Big Sur Inn (where you can find Castro Canyon's stream) is about 7.5 miles north of the turnoff for Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park (where you can find McWay Falls) and about 3 miles south of the Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park turnoff (where you can find Pfeiffer Falls.
