Pratt's Falls is a thin and lacy 137ft high waterfall partially hidden in thick foliage. I can easily envision how the falls can really stand out in the autumn when fall colors show themselves amongst the neighboring foliage making the scene come alive visually. I was here in early summer so I had to be content with lots of green around the falls.
Although it wasn't obvious to me at first, there's a short path leading from the car park descending to the base of the falls. The views from the rim of the gorge is mostly blocked. At the bottom of the trail, you can see most of the waterfall but foliage tends to block the uppermost sections.
Directions: For some reason we took a roundabout way to get to the falls (we stayed on the I-90 for too long and had to go south on I-481 before going the right way). But the way we should've gone was to take the I-90 east into Syracuse, and then go south on the I-81 until it junctions with the Hwy 20. Heading east on Route 20, we took it into the town of Pompey where we turned left onto county highway 182. We then turned right onto county hwy 218 where a spur road to Pratt's Falls County Park is on the left.
