I hiked to this waterfall in early July 2010. The waterfall is beautiful. We were the only people on the mosquito infested trail. Even with 100% deet, my husband and I had at least 20 bites each. Thankfully, the mist off the falls kept them at bay while we ate lunch. You do need to ford a river to get to this one.

Failed in Our First Attempt

This was one of the goals of our Yellowstone trip back in June 2004.

Unfortunately, we didn't make it as our failed excursion into the Bechler Backcountry was complicated by a near accident at Terraced Falls and a rather intimidating Falls River crossing (it was running a bit high and fast) on the Union Falls trail itself.

This may be a pipe dream, but I long to go there as part of a larger backpacking trip to that part of the park.
