Grundarfoss Grundarfoss is an impressive plunging waterfall near the town and fjord of Grundarfjörður. This one looked like a real nice one to get close to in order to better appreciate its power and size, and I'm sure there might have been an access road to get closer to the falls, but in our haste not to miss our ferry to the Westfjords that morning, we couldn't chance it! The view you see in the photo above is right from the road. Directions: We noticed this falls about 1.5km east of the town of Grundarfjörður on Route 574. It was about 4km east of Kirkjufellsfoss or 27km east of Ólafsvík.
