Kapena Falls...with a bonus Alapena Falls

We found Alapena Falls first.

Tons of mosquitos, not a deep enough pool to
swim, lots of litter from beer bottles to other trash around the shore. Not a spectacular falls.

Then my friends tried to take a shortcut back to the car and found Kapena Falls. Much prettier, still lots of mosquitos, less trash, deeper pool for swimming.

WoW should add Alapena falls to the list, just because it exists, and is about a 2 min. walk from Kapena falls.

That was the 2nd time I went. I went a 3rd time and found a fun way up to Kapena from Alapena.

Climb down to Alapena from the Pali Hwy, and then climb up and over the falls to the far side of them. then hike upstream to Kapena falls.

To get back to your car, just cross the stream again and climb back up!
