Depending on your waterfall criteria, Browne Falls could very well be the tallest waterfall known in New Zealand at 619m. It sits deep in the Doubtful Sound and tumbles down a bush-clad mountain side fed by Lake Browne at its top. Given its cascading nature, you may not even notice this waterfall at all (or at least not know it was this waterfall) unless you're actively looking for it and knew in advance where it was on the map.
This waterfall competes with Sutherland Falls as New Zealand's tallest and mightiest waterfall. However, I tend to think that most people would find Sutherland Falls more memorable than this one.
