Espelandsfossen (Odda)

Espelandsfossen in Oddadalen

Espelandsfossen was the first of many waterfalls we saw in Oddadalen (Odda Valley - also known as the Valley of Waterfalls for obvious reasons). This one was said to be 102m but I'm not sure if that was exaggerated or not. There are actually two major waterfalls with this name in Hordaland county. In my mind, they're easily confused with the
waterfall in Granvin, because they look similar to each other.I'm guessing the waterfall featured on this page got its name from a nearby village somewhere above the falls by the name of Espeland. In any case, this one was gushing and was putting mist on the road, which wasn't all that close to it.

Directions: Look for it on the east-facing wall just south of Låtefossen along Rv13. There are a couple of tiny pullouts where we had to get out of our rental car and walk to a spot on the road for a good view of the falls. Alternatively, we could've parked 1/4-mile down at the Låtefossen car park and walk that distance back to this waterfall.
