Kvåsfossen is an interesting 36m waterfall near Lyngdal. It's a short detour off the E39 between Kristiansand and Stavanger. The falls is really more of a waterfall collector's excuse to visit this part of South Norway (as most of Southern Norway's waterfalls fall under this category). It was the only waterfall in Vest-Agder county that I have been.Especially interesting is the rock wedged above the falls. Called Kvåssteinen, Norwegian folklore said it was placed there by a big troll, but geology says it probably tumbled down an adjacent mountainside and got lodged at its current spot.
