Linndalsfossen is the third of three major waterfalls converging on the community of Åmotan near the Jenstad Farm. This one is said to have a total drop of 280m but you'll have to earn a view of this mammoth waterfall by hiking. It is the hardest of the three falls to reach, and you'll have to allocate at least an hour or more to see it.You can start from either of the two toll car parks (see Reppdalsfossen for driving directions from Sunndalen or the Sunndal Valley). But instead of walking towards Reppdalsfossen or Svøufossen, you'll have to hike the other way up the hills towards Gammelsetra (a hytta or mountain cabin) along the Linndøla watercourse. The trail is gradually uphill with a few steep sections on the way to the falls, but it's all downhill on the way back. It took me a little over an hour return but I'd imagine 90 minutes to two hours is plenty of time to leisurely do the walk.
