Friaren Ljosurfossen is the last major waterfall you'll see on a Geiranger Fjord (Geirangerfjord) tour on its way towards the Sunnylvs Fjord (Sunnylvsfjorden). This substantial waterfall has a very tall, multi-tiered drop as well as an abandoned farm not too far from its bottom. The falls faces north as it tumbles on the southern walls of the Geiranger Fjord. Thus, we had to battle the sun and shadows as we photographed the falls during our midday to early afternoon tourist cruise. Also according to my waterfall collecting friend, Olaf Helwig, he says you might also see the falls called "Ljosurdfossen."
