Other Romsdalen Waterfalls

Converging waterfalls near the south end of Romsdalen

The Romsdalen Waterfalls (or Romsdal Valley Waterfalls) are too plentiful to count. We could have easily spent all day trying to stop for each one on the E136 and still ended up with several that were missed.

I won't bother naming and singling out each waterfall in this section. So I've created this page to show you a sampler of the variety and quantity of waterfalls you'll find here. And this doesn't even include the prominent named waterfalls such as Vermafossen, Døntefossen, and Gravdefossen.

The one exception (to me not singling out any particular waterfall on this page) is the waterfall you see at the top of this page. I believe it's called Kleivafossen. We happened to find it a little over 4km south of Slettafossen along the E136. There was a pullout on the side of the road closest to the Rauma River, and a couple of walking paths led the view you see at the top of the page.

Directions: This page covers the stretch of road along the E136 between Åndalsnes and Dombås. Most of the waterfalls are concentrated near the named waterfalls whose directions are given with Slettafossen as the reference.
