Sandsfossen is a very tiny but wide 5m river waterfall known more for its Salmon Studio (Laksestudio) than its scenic qualities. According to our research, the falls sits on the river known as Suldalslågen (I think is pronounced "SOOL-dolls-loh-gun"), which is a well-known salmon river that can offer good angling even as late in the season as September. There was even a salmon ladder to allow for salmon to get by the falls and go further up the river (with an underwater window view at the Laksestudio).
Directions: Look for this signed waterfall just outside the town of Sand (in the Suldal municipality) near a residential area. The township of Sand was merely a stopover for us as we made our way from the Ryfylke region to Sauda and ultimately Odda.
Once we were in Sand, we headed towards the south end of town and followed a local road between Suldalslågen and Rv46. The falls was found on this local road.
