Sivlefossen is the other of two giant waterfalls tumbling alongside the serpentine road known as Stalheimskleiva. Like Stalheimsfossen, we were able to see the falls from the steep road. I was able to find a pullout that afforded us a view like the photo taken at the top of this page. That photo was taken from a pullout about the half-way point down along the Stalheimskleiva (maybe about 5 minutes below the hairpin turn yielding views of Stalheimsfossen).
This 142m waterfall was equally thunderous and impressive as its counterpart waterfall. Unfortunately, we weren't able to hike to the base of the falls so it was mostly a roadside affair. We happened to see the falls when it was fronted by flowers and dandelions during our June 2005 trip.
During our research, I had read that this waterfall was named after the Norwegian poet Per Sivle who grew up in the nearby Sivle Farm.
