Latourell Falls is a gorgeous 249ft plunging waterfall with a classically narrow rectangular shape and some basalt formations behind the falls itself. It's very easy to view this waterfall as there's an upper viewing area (only a few paces from the car park) for a view like you see above as well as a walking path leading you closer to its misty base. A bridge over the creek near the base also provides nice photo ops provided it's not too rainy or too misty down there.
Apparently, given the overhanging nature of this waterfall, some people scramble behind the waterfalls' base. We weren't nuts enough to try it when we were there, especially since it was swollen by some serious rainfall.
If you're itching to do something more than just gazing at a roadside waterfall, there is an Upper Latourell Falls (said to be between 80-100ft tall) roughly a mile further than this one via a 2.3-mile loop walking trail. We didn't do it so we can't really say more on it other than what we've read in the literature.
Directions: You can find this waterfall a little over 3 miles due west along the Historic Columbia River Highway from the Bridal Veil Exit off the I-84. If you're headed east on the Historic Columbia River Gorge Highway from the Vista House (great views from here if the weather cooperates), this will be the first major waterfall attraction you'll see.
