Washington Waterfalls are abundant thanks to the very high rainfall of the Pacific Northwest. The result of this wet climate is temperate rainforests, snow-covered mountains and volcanoes (many of which have glaciers on them), and vast forests. In fact, it's the lushness of the area around the state's largest city Seattle that have earned its nickname - the Emerald City.
The abundance of the Washington Waterfalls allows locals and visitors alike to take their pick of which ones to explore. There are so many to find here that it could easily be a lifetime waterfall hunt to try to collect them all.
Our experience of waterfalling for the Washington Waterfalls is limited to one brief trip (to attend a wedding in Seattle) that allowed us to see a handful of waterfalls.

Below are the Washington Waterfalls that we have been to. Click on a region or a waterfall for more details about them.
North Cascades: Comprising the northernmost (at least as far as the United States is concerned) of the extensive Cascade Ranges, both the geology and high rainfall make this a haven for waterfallers. In addition to the quantity of Washington Waterfalls in this region, it also has some of the state's most popular and scenic falls...
