Kepler Cascades

Kepler Cascades

The Kepler Cascades is an pleasant 100ft cascade on the Firehole River dropping in several tiers.

This one's pretty easy to visit as it's essentially a roadside waterfall and there's a wooden overlook platform allowing you to protrude over the steep canyon looking down at the impressive multi-tiered waterfall.

Nearby the car park for this cascade (see driving directions below), there's also the popular Lone Star Geyser trail, which is one of the few geysers that erupts regularly outside the main Upper Geyser Basin. Getting here, however, requires close to a 5-mile return hike (something we didn't do).

Directions: It's a short 4.1-mile drive east from Old Faithful Village towards the West Thumb Geyser Basin. The car park is well-signed.
