Like an apparition, Wraith Falls appears suddenly on the cliff as a white bulb on Lupine Creek.
It tumbles some 90ft, but I understand it can dry up late in the summer. We saw it in late June with pretty satisfactory flow. The falls is really more of a cascade (or rapids) due to its low slope angle, but appears like a legitimate waterfall when viewed straight on, which is the case when you reach the end of the official trail.
The trail itself is one mile return through Lupine Meadow. It's a mostly flat hike until it gently ascends to a lookout where you can see the falls in the distance. We noticed other hikers and footprints that went beyond the sanctioned overlook (and so we did likewise to get a closer and better photo like you see below).
Directions: The trailhead is about a mile east of Undine Falls or 5 miles east of Mammoth on the Grand Loop Road. If you're coming from Roosevelt, it's 5 miles west on the Grand Loop Road. I recalled there are fair-sized pullouts or car parks at the trailhead.
