Waterfalls of Merced Canyon and Western Yosemite
Following the Merced River, the Merced Canyon is the corridor from the town of El Portal ("Hell Portal" according to residents due to its hot summers) through the Arch Rock Entrance to the foot of Yosemite Valley. While the waterfalls featured here are of the overlooked and lesser known variety (such as Wildcat Falls and Silver Strand Falls), the main attraction is Cascade Falls.
