It’s already a long walk to the base of Vettisfossen, but better views can be had by taking the bridge across the main river before you reach the base of the falls and then hiking up a long, steep trail that goes high up above the fall on the other side of the valley to […]
We’ve been regular visitors to Maui for years, and usually do all the same things: We go beach-hopping, watch a luau, shop, take a snorkel cruise, and hang out at the resort. This year, we decided to do something totally different and see the Hana side of the island. We drove down the Road to […]
If you are thinking of taking your own vehicle to the waterfalls – forget it! Even if it is a 4×4 you are no longer allowed access to the campsite – You HAVE transfer all your gear and take the “local” song Teaw” the official reason is “Because policy of Tak Governor ,he wants the […]
Visited the falls last week, Oct. 27, 2017. FANTASTIC. Mountain Bikes are illegal on the Coastal Trail from Palomarin trailhead to the unmarked and unsigned falls trail and beyond. Just spectacular! -Ken Papai
The powerful Stuibenfall can be found in the Tyrol region of Austria near the village of Umhausen. The Horlachbach stream plunges 159 meters into the valley in a cascade of spray which gives the fall its name. We were also lucky to see some beautiful rainbows. There is a car park just outside the village […]
Autumn Ridge Road to Whiskey Falls is washed out. You have to reach it from the Mammoth Pool Road or up Beashore Road.
My son and I drove up from Sacramento for a day hike. The drive was a less than an hour and a half, and all but the last little bit is paved. This was Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, so the cul-de-sac mentioned above was filled with cars. We turned down to Millionaire Camp (not […]
Since I live in the area, I have a bit of additional information. First of all, the road where you park is *a* frontage road (meaning, a road that parallels the freeway), but the actual name is Old Highway 80. It’s called “old” because I-8 was built to replace it. The former Highway 80 lost […]
Thala waterfall at Bharmour is also one of the most beautiful waterfalls
I saw your writeup on Adamsons Falls from a while back, and being quite partial to an adventure myself I decided to go check it out. The track in is still rough, although it didn’t seem too hard to follow for most of it. There had been a lot of rain leading up to the […]
I came out to fish the many small dams and reservoirs around the region and thus left my heavy camera gear at home. I stopped off at Sailors Falls on the way back to Melbourne and was delighted to see them in full flow. I say ‘them’ because there are actually two falls next to […]
Lucifer is possibly my favorite falls. Hiked around falls with my sister (ages 57 and 75). Low-traffic weekday. Beautiful fall day. Down north trail from mill, across bridge and up cliff-face trail (a must – don’t miss catwalk with dedication plaque on way up). A lot of climbing both down and up. Fully-constructed trails, but […]
The moment I had my first glimpse of Havasu Falls, I knew it was somewhere I needed to go. After months of planning, we loaded up our backpacks and made the journey. The trip was worth every single step along the way.
The Nassfeld Waterfall is high in the mountains of the Hohe Tauern National Park in Austria. Although at an alltitude of 2528m above sea level it is easily accessible as it sits beside the Grssglockner High Alpine Road. This spectacular toll road which is one of the highest in Europe is 48km long and has […]
This is located about an hour 1/2 outside of thunder bay in Dorian
Below, I have listed my original story hiking to White Oak Canyon Falls. I was able to capture the upper and lower falls. All photos were taken by me. Enjoy the read! The views were breath-taking, the air was crisp and clean, the sounds of the birds chirping and the wind blowing was calming and […]
Millaa Millaa Falls is on the Atherton Tablelands west of Cairns. It is a plunge waterfall with a single 18m drop. It falls into a big pond which is ideal for swimming and then flows into a creek. It is easy to either walk or swim so that you are behind the waterfall. The falls […]
As a prior resident of Arkansas, I’ve had the opportunity to visit quite a few waterfalls from Tim Ernst’s Arkansas Waterfalls book. This is definitely an area worth visiting, especially the beautiful blue water of the Buffalo River, which was a very unexpected beauty. I’ve attached a few images of some other waterfalls in this […]
This li’l gem is tucked away ina tributary of the San Gabriel River, that comes in on tha L side ifyur comin upstream, R ifyur comin down, approx 1mi downstream from B2N. A couple of pictures from Snug and Pelverata Falls in Tasmania after some good rain. Both falls were spectacular, especially Pelverata. I have visited both of these falls many times, but never with this much water flowing.
