The New Zealand Waterfalls page is where we share our extensive experiences visiting the waterfalls in both the North Island and South island of New Zealand. Indeed, as you can see from the map above and the big listing of waterfall write-ups below that we have lots of information to share with you for your trip planning needs.

On this page, you can also observe the at-a-glance ratings in the listings to see which waterfalls impressed us. As you visit the waterfall write-ups, we also let you know which ones would require hikes and which ones wouldn’t need much effort from you to reach.

Like its diverse landscape, our survey of New Zealand Waterfalls encompassed almost every imaginable variety in scenery while forcing us to really explore the country in ways that really made the country seem special to us. Corrections May 19, 2017 3:43 am by Rangi - Marea - Surely it's in the Waikato? Taupo is also in the Waikato.... Just FYI....the Bay Of Plenty finishes approx. some 24 kms SOUTH of Rotorua.... And that is where the Waikato starts! and...the Waikato does NOT finish until some 70 kms south into the Desert Road.....that is correct: and that is some 120 kms south of… ...Read More
