INTRODUCTION

The Tahiti Nui Waterfalls page was my attempt at trying to capture and exhibit the other unnamed waterfalls we noticed on the larger "dumbbell" of Tahiti Island (the part known as Tahiti Nui or Big Tahiti).

It turned out that many of the waterfalls we've managed to capture could very well be of the ephemeral variety though there was at least one we noticed out of our hotel room in Punaauia that seemed to have a little more permanence. That was because during our most recent 2012 trip, we were getting persistent drenching rains that lasted several days. Thus, we ended up seeing surprising waterfalls that we never expected to see (and many more we didn't even stop for).

I'm afraid with other miscellaneous waterfalls moved over to other pages, we don't really have a lot of photos to show for this page. However, there were more waterfalls we noticed on the eastern side of Tahiti Nui that I regret not stopping for and taking photos of those as well. Oh well.

Anyways, pictured below are the waterfalls we've managed to capture in no particular order.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

The waterfalls found on this page are on Tahiti Nui (i.e. the larger of the two "dumbbells" held together by the Isthmus of Taravao). Just driving around the island as well as taking the ferry to Moorea allowed us to notice these guys, but I could just as easily imagine most of these would be gone if it hadn't rained hard.
