A hidden gem, and big surprise to most visitors, these single span falls drop 59 metres to the gorge below.
A two hundred metre walk from the carpark takes you to two viewing platforms, one facing the falls, the other the gorge. A pretty walk with occasional glimpses of what is to come.
Most spectacular after heavy rain when you can hear the the falls thundering as soon as you leave your car, and see the mist wafting alongside the walking track.
A bushland picnic area with several tables and seats, set amongst tall gum trees beside the Agnes River, makes a cool and relaxing destination to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life (190 kms south east from Melbourne).
Check out the “Friends of Agnes Falls” facebook page for some great photos of the area.
