There is a lot of unknown in the valley of the falls.
First, when you turn off the hwy is the Monkey Face Falls with the profile rock of a monkey head. The falls is normally a trickle except for heavy rains and snow melt.
The best part of Big Falls is going past the railing right up the creek to the bottom of the lower falls.
You could stand right under the lower 40-50′ drop if you so desired to get knocked off your feet.
You can’t see this section from the railing!
There is a small pool with a large rock that causes the water to cascade on both sides of the rock about 15′. You can get a picture of the twin cascade and the lower falls all at the same time while your friends sit on the rock!
If you go upstream from the parking lot instead of downstream you will find another stream coming from the left and if you follow this up a half mile you will see another 30-40′ waterfall which is the bottom of 3 cascades!
I have heard of other falls, but since I have not seen them I will not elaborate on something that might not be.
