Green Mountain Creek Falls is a small 20 foot falls on the slopes of Grandfather Mountain. It isn’t the tallest, or the most scenic, but its easy accessibility and location make it a nice falls to visit. It is located just off US 221, which parallels the Blue Ridge Parkway for a few miles on the rugged slopes of Grandfather Mountain. In the winter, you can see a bridge on the parkway above the falls.
There is also another falls directly below the road, but the only way to reach it would be a steep scramble.
Green Mountain Creek Falls is located roadside off of US 221, around 8 miles from the junction of 221 and Main Street in Blowing Rock, and around 7.3 miles from the junction of 221 and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s located on the west side of the road, which is the right if you’re coming from Blowing Rock. There’s a small pullout just past the falls.
