This post was in response to Cumberland Falls

I am deeply interested in the history, rather the pre-history, of Cumberland Falls, particularly the story of the falls and surrounding area before, during, and after its purchase by Coleman DuPont.

His purchase of the land, we are told, precluded the building of an upriver dam.

You see, there exists a documented history and a local oral history, and there are notable inconsistencies between the two.

Is this a site from which I can garner more information in my attempt to correct these discrepancies?

But even if not, I anticipate enjoyment of this site; I love waterfalls 🙂
