Maybe a bit off topic, but during one of my visits to Iceland October 2022 I took a detour from the ring road to explore the Vatnsdalur valley where I a.o. passed mentioned waterfall.
An interesting story behind the Kornsa estate, is that a major part of the book “Burial rites” by Australian author Hannah Kent takes place on this farm.
The book is loosely based around real events leading up to the last execution in Iceland in 1830 of Agnes Magnusdottir.
A breathtaking story.
The farm as it appears today more or less was built by the local chieftain Larus Bløndal in the 19th century.
His father Bjørn Bløndal was the preceding chieftain and the very same authority who carried out the execution of Agnes Magnusdottir.
Sorry, as I said off topic, but could not help letting you know.
