We hiked Piney Creek Falls this month and found a way to some fantastic views at the top of the falls.
If you go over the suspension bridge and turn right, there’s an unmarked but discernible trail that travels along Piney Creek.
After about a tenth of a mile, it appears to dead end with some downed trees and foliage overgrowth, but if you pass this (very short and easy to do), you’ll find yourself back on trail along the creek.
There is some moderately challenging rock maneuvering to do in a few spots which require great care and patience, but the view is worth it.
Of note, I wouldn’t recommend this for young children (although we saw others with young kids successfully do so) or dogs as some of the narrow passages can be slippery.
The trail ends at the top of the falls (no way to get to the base that we could find) with spectacular views!
