Neal Creek Falls is reached by the forest service road from Pagosa Springs at Piedra Road heading north up to Williams Creek Reservoir. There is a pull off on Piedra Road (631) on the north side of Neal Creek and you can see the falls from the cliff edge looking down to the falls. You won’t be able to get a view of the falls from the road but the view point from which this photo was taken is within about 40 yards of the road. If you continue on up the road west then north where it crosses the Piedra River there’s a nice short hike down the Piedra River Canyon to where the canyon cliff rocks overhang the river before the confluence of Neal Creek and the Piedra. About halfway between the trailhead at the Piedra River crossing and the pull off to view the falls there is a nice viewpoint at the cliff edge overlooking Neal Creek Canyon to your left (east) and Piedra River Canyon to your right (north). Continue on up to Williams Creek Reservoir for a view of that glacial valley and surrounding peaks.
