There are four prominent waterfalls each within a few miles driving distance and requiring short hikes to reach them, this one of those, North Clear Creek Falls, the better known falls of the group and closest to the highway when I visited, is located between Creede and Lake City, with a large parking area and within 50 to 100 yards of the viewing points. There are public camping grounds at the other falls trailheads and disperse camping in the area when I’d visited and painted a large landscape painting at North Clear Creek Falls. More information about these falls may be obtained at the visitor centers in Creede or Lake City. I’ve seen moose more than once on visits to these and the other falls on the two Clear Creeks, North Clear Creek, and South Clear Creek.

The World of Waterfalls has been to this waterfall, which you can read about here.
