I have the good fortune to have lived in Hawaii for the past 22 years. I am a private and former military pilot.
I have flown past Papalaua Falls on Molokai’s northeast coast dozens of times over the years in fact have spread the ashes of several dear friends in the area because of it beauty. In your entry you say that Papalaua is 1200 feet while you have seen some entries saying it is 1700 ft. I think I can clear that up. The falls come out of the rocks at the top at 1700 ft above sea level. I believe that the 1200 ft refers to the distance the water free falls before it hits some terrain about 400-500 feet above the beach
