Waterfall Safety and Common Sense

Los Notros Cascade is the informal name I’m giving this little lacy cascade next to the upscale Los Notros Hotel near the world famous Perito Moreno Glacier.

There’s some infrastructure built around this cascade leading me to believe that the hotel somehow utilizes this cascade for some of their fresh water.

But given the thinness of the falls, I think it only flows seasonally.

To be honest, I made up this page really as more of an excuse to exhibit the massive Perito Moreno Glacier, which was west of the town of El Calafate.

In fact, the cascade was merely more of a side attraction as the whole point of going out this way would be for the glacier anyways.

Authorities

Los Notros Cascade resides in Los Glaciares National Park near El Calafate in Patagonian Argentina. For information or inquiries about the general area as well as current conditions, the closest authoritative source of information that I could find was at Los Glaciares National Park website.

From El Calafate, we just drove west on Route 11 then turning left (staying on Route 11) when it junctioned with Route 8.

We then followed this road to the glacier passing by Hosteria Los Notros and its cascade.

Overall, it took us 2 hours to get from El Calafate to Perito Moreno Glacier. The cascade was probably about 20 minutes before that.

For geographical context, El Calafate was a 3.5-hour flight from Buenos Aires.
