About Teinefossen
Teinefossen (which I think was pronounced “TYE-nuh-foss-un”) was a waterfall that I stumbled upon while I was seeking out Flakkefossen.
Strangely enough, even though I had targeted Flakkefossen on my brief visit to the Birkeland area, I thought the Teinefoss Waterfall stole the show with its wide drop from a height of about 9m on the Tovdal River (Tøvdalselva).
I was able to get the frontal views you see on this page from the road bridge crossing over the Tøvdalselva River.
There was also a walking path that ultimately looked like it would take me closer to the top of the waterfall though I was pretty content with the frontal views so I didn’t take that path very far.
According to the sign here, the river was said to be good for fishing (especially salmon fishing) as well as a good place for swimming.
Since I don’t fish, I can’t refute or corroborate this statement, but generally, I learned that river waterfalls like this tend to be good spawning grounds for salmon.
So I could see why it would be a good fishing spot.
