TABLE OF CONTENTS
The Merced Canyon and the Western Yosemite Waterfalls are mostly tumbling into the rugged Merced Canyon feeding the Merced River. This part of Yosemite National Park is the corridor between the town of El Portal ("Hell Portal" according to residents due to its hot Summers) through the Arch Rock Entrance to the mouth of Yosemite Valley
. While many of the waterfalls here would be revered outside Yosemite, they are merely the appetizers to the main courses lying just a bit further to the east. Nonetheless, the waterfalls found here are excellent in their own right and they certainly provide a little more peace and quiet than their louder, more popular neighbors to the east.
While the waterfalls featured here are of the overlooked and lesser known variety (such as Wildcat Falls
and Silver Strand Falls
), the main attraction is Cascade Falls

You can use the form below, but if you find our host's interface too troublesome to use (especially if you're trying to upload photos), then just send a text submission anyways using the form, but also let us know that you'd like to attach photos. If you've provided an email address via the form, then we can reply back acknowledging your request, and you can then reply to that email with your photo attachments. We're very sorry about this, but there's not much we can do about SBI's terrible interface.
