I visited Zimbabwe prior to recent troubles, staying at the Elephant Hills Intercontinental. And from the roof top bar, you could see the 'Smoke that Thunders' away in the distance.

Truly awesome!

But nothing prepares you for the up close and personal experience of standing next to its intense natural power.

We now have a son and can't wait to take him there when he too will appreciate the power of this magnificent place.

The Zimbabwe Side
by: World of Waterfalls

Our experience with the Zimbabwe side was limited only to the National Park part and walking the road spanning the Zambia-Zimbabwe border.

We wished we were able to spend more time in the Victoria Falls town on the Zimbabwe side, but we had already planned for a stay in the Livingstone, Zambia area ever since the Mugabe troubles took place.

The current Zimbabwe situation is truly tragic if you ask me, but perhaps one day we can return to a more prosperous Zimbabwe with the "Smoke That Thunders" as the backdrop.
